Behind the Music
Crimson Layne first embarked on their musical voyage of discovery together after band founder Lead Vocalist Rania Layne met Lead Guitar and Co-Writer Glenn Yate (of The Frantik) in Auckland in 2021. But their origin goes back earlier to when the band members grew up listening to a variety of musical genres that played an influential role in shaping their paths as musicians and ultimately led them to join forces.
'Rock Fusion' and Uniquely 'Kiwi' Music!
In 2022, Crimson Layne became four with the addition of Nikolas Bryon-Carr (bass) and then Dan Pickford (drums).
Rania Layne (New Zealand born and bred) has Kiwi music in her DNA and developed her soulful sassy style through her decades of musical and real life adventures. Their signature sound offers something different and unique to their fans by creating and sharing original music that is unmistakably their flavour.

Rania has music in her DNA !! Cassically trained with raunch to burn, journeying from solo artist to leading bands.
Writing original lyrics with depth and feel - calling on her years growing up in New Zealand's South Island; moving through Wellington and later settling in Auckland. Her musical style blankets rock to soul and anything saucy in between. Either high energy or seductively intimate, her unique energy and sound you'll not forget.

Behind the Gat !
Glenn Yate is a talent! Decades of leading and writing originals with his rockband The Frantik, beginning his career as a teenager rocking on stage - Glenn has discovered a new dynamic of creating with Rania Layne. From acoustic to electric, rock / soul / ballads, Rania's power and vocal ability blend beautifully with Glenn's rock and soul style also.

Dan. An accomplished fulltime composer, and also vocalist / multi-instrumentalist with music in his DNA, Dan has slotted into Crimson Layne like seasoned pro he is !

Meet Nikolas Bryon-Carr
Nik is the youngest member of Crimson Layne and also a very talented singer-songwriter / bassist and guitarist!
Rania met Nik on the Auckland Music scene early 2022 and was delighted how well he slotted into the band like he'd been there for years! Nik holds the Crimson Layne groove on BASS!
